Technological Innovation: Introduction to Artificial Insemination
Most of the fertility treatments are very expensive and they are required to attend more than one treatment. According to some the reports regarding Embryology and Human Fertilisation, there are some clinics overseas that can offer and satisfy in terms of care standard and treatment, such as the Costa del Sol, Spain.
What is Artificial Insemination?
The 人工受精 (Artificial insemination) is a type of fertility treatment wherein it involves a forceful injection of a male reproductive cell, the sperm, into the female reproductive organ, the uterus or cervix, in order to achieve pregnancy through a process called the Vivo fertilization. The treatment introduces another way of getting pregnant aside from the conventional means, which is through sexual intercourse. The process is very commonly used in animal breeding, such as pigs and cattle.
There are some scenarios that must either be satisfied in order to conduct the process in a couple.

- The infertility is primarily caused by minor disturbance in male cell reproduction
- The infertility is caused due to cervical reasons

- Assisted Reproductive Technology. This type of technology involves the use of in vitro fertilization, fertility medication or surrogacy in order to achieve pregnancy. The Assisted Reproductive Technology is primarily used in couples who are infertile due hereditary reasons, or those couples who suffer from any communicable diseases, such as the HIV. In this manner, with the aid of the Assisted Reproductive Technology, the risk of being infected in achieving pregnancy is reduced to an acceptable level.
- Sperm Donation
- Animal Husbandry Techniques
There are two techniques of Artificial Insemination
- Intracervical insemination. It is considered to be the most common and the easiest among insemination techniques. This technique can be used without even the aid of any medical practitioner, thus, they can be performed as self-insemination even in your houses.
- Intrauterine Insemination
- Single women
- Lesbian relationship
- Couples wherein the male partner suffers from what we called male infertility.
